Our Founder

Scott McHenry has been working in the green industry for over 12 years. He began his career at the age of 19, while attending The University of Cincinnati, where he earned a B.A. in horticulture. After living in Cincinnati for a decade, Scott and his wife Hilary returned home to Canton, Ohio to start a family. While Hilary was pregnant with their first child, Scott was treating their lawn using traditional products and he began to wonder what impact these may have on his wife, their child and even himself.

For so many years these products seemed harmless, part of his everyday life, but then he began to research the possible dangers associated with chemical lawn care. Scott discovered that these practices could have adverse affects on his family and the environment. He found that there is a better approach to lawn care, one that doesn’t involve synthetic fertilizers and chemical pesticides. As Scott began to learn more about organic lawn care methods and the new products available, his passion grew and Greener Grass Organic Lawn & Pest was born.
